KickStart Reading and Numeracy

The Atlantic Seaboard Dyslexia Education Center (ASDEC) is pleased to present the  KickStart Reading and Numeracy Program, developed by Mona Iyer, AMS, CALT, CDT.  Ms. Iyer is an early childhood reading specialist with over 25 years teaching highly successful strategies for reading, writing, handwriting, spelling and math.

KickStart integrates foundational Orton-Gillingham instructional methods with highly effective Montessori strategies for multi-sensory learning.  The objective of this program is to provide a strong foundation in reading, writing, comprehension and numeracy to young learners and provide a path for continued enhancement of learning skills by leveraging  pathways for students with different learning abilities.  Using evidence-based screeners, teachers will learn how to group students according to their learning needs.  

Workshop Dates: May 6 from 9:00-4:00 and May 13, 2023 from 9:00-3:00

Location: New Hampshire Estates Elementary School, 8720 Carroll Avenue, Silver Spring, MD

Cost $400 before April 15, $500 after April 15
